Bakota Mbulu Ngulu reliquary figure, Gabon, carved of wood and covered with sheets of copper and brass. Fan-shaped head with embellishments, wrapped wire, and protruding nose. No mouth and eyes (never had any), unique among all the known Bakota figures.

Florence Putterman is a highly regarded artist who received her BS degree at New York University and her Masters of Fine Arts Degree at Penn State University.
Originally from New York City, The Puttermans have made their home for over 50 years in Selinsgrove, PA, and winter in Sarasota, Florida. They are active humanitarians and philanthropists who collected fine modern and contemporary art and tribal art during their lives.
