Bei Artemis Gallery (05.12.2017, Lot 47 B) wie folgt beschrieben.

„Lot-of-10-holy-land-terracotta-oil-lamps.

Ancient Near East, Holy Land, ca. 3rd to 5th century CE. A gathering of ten mold-made terracotta oil lamps in a myriad of styles indicative of the Near East. Three lamps have conical handles, wide fill holes, and cross-shaped designs within the neck channels; one lamp has a tab-shaped handle, a patterned fill hole, and an incised base with spiraled linear designs; one lamp has a saucer-shaped body, no handle, and a small wick spout; four lamps have cream-colored bodies, conical handles, low-relief shoulder designs, and circular bases; and the last lamp has a tab-shaped handle, a wide fill hole, a ringed base, and a slender profile. A wonderful group! Size (largest): 4″ L (10.2 cm).

Provenance: private Carlton collection, Los Angeles, California, USA, acquired between 1965 and 1980.“
